A comedians worst nightmare
FSHD is a relatively unknown muscle disease that results in patients losing their ability to smile. However, they don't lose their sense of humor. To increase awareness of this disease, we pranked a comedian by having him perform in front of an audience consisting of FSHD patients without his knowledge. It was an awkward experience, but when we revealed the truth, his response was heartwarming, and the disease gained much-needed recognition. He still serves as an ambassador for the foundation to this day.
